Jerez is just 20 min from the ancient port of Cadiz by train and 12 km by local bus or train to El Puerto Santa Maria, one of many nearby natural beaches on the Costa de la Luz.
Jerez is well known for its sherries, horses, fiestas and flamence dancing. It is a picturesque town of wide boulevards and squares loaded with fine Gothic and baroque architecture, and a fabulous Moorish history.
Golf courses (the nearest one is a 10 min drive), the Grand Prix Circuit and the mountain villages are within easy reach. Rental cars are readily available and inexpensive. The apartment is an excellent central base for exploring the town, the Province of Cadiz and the whole Andalucia region.
