January/Enero
1st	Public Holiday throughout Spain
5th	Three Kings - celebrated throughout Spain.  This is when the Spanish celebrate the three Kings arrival - locals dress as the three kings and throw sweets into the crowds.  Presents are also given on this day.

28th	Andalucia Day - Public Holiday
28th	Cadiz Carnival - one of Spains most popular carnivals, Cadiz celebrates Shrove Tuesday with celebrations starting the weekend before and continuting until the weekend after Shrove Tuesday.  Well worth a visit.  Cadiz, Spain

March/Marzo
24th - 26th	World Motorbike Champtionship at Jerez de la Frontera, Race Circuit - view www.circuitodejerez.com for full booking details.   Being held on 23 - 25th March 2007
April/Abril
March/April	Holy week is celebrated around the Costa de la Luz.  The Ayamonte celebrations have been declared a Festival of National Interest by the Andalucian Government.
end of March/early April	Tarifa is the place to be for all bird watchers/twitchers as it is the time of the Spring migration.  The skys over Tarifa are filled with kites, eagles, buzzards, storks, hoopoes, rollers, bee-eaters etc.  The best area for this is Los Lances Beach in Tarifa.  It is also a great time of the year for whale or dolphin watching in this area.
12th - 16th April	Vejer de la Frontera - After the three days of sombre processions through the village streets (Wed, Thurs, Fri) La Fiesta del Toro Embolao comes as a light relief. The bull run happens on Easter  Sunday (April 16th), but the full La Fiesta del Toro Embolao starts in Vejer de la Frontera on Saturday night with parties and a concert at Carpa Municipal in Los Remedios. At twelve o'clock midday on Sunday a bull is released in La Plazuela, with its horns covered by big balls. Another is released later in the day. Crowds watch and cheer from the balconies, roof tops and the gated side streets and encourage the brave/insane people running with the bull through the narrow streets. 14th April	Good Friday
20 - 25 April	Seville Spring Fair (Feria de Abril).  Semana Santa and La Feria de Abril Sevilla.  A big fiesta with processions through the streets - a must see lifetime event.
May/Mayo
7 - 14 May	The Jerez Horse Fair (Feria del Caballo).  This world renowned horse fair with well worth a visit if you are in the area.  The wonderful Spanish dancing horses can be seen here.
24 - 28 May	Medina Sidonia Feria/Fair including a cattle fair. Bus Service leaving every 45 minutes from the Caminillo Chico to the fairground, and will run on Thursday night between 12.30 a.m. - 2 a.m. (Friday morning), on Friday and Saturday nights 11.45 p.m. -  5 a.m. and on Sunday mid-day - 2 a.m.
June/Junio
Friday 2nd June	New European Wine/Cafe Bar at Aldea del Coto, La Barrosa, CITA CAFE BAR.   Open from Friday night onwards 2nd June, open from 10.00- last person to leave.  Food served 1000-1600.  Closed Weds.

July/Julio
26 July	Festividad de Santa Ana Chiclana
26 - 29 July	Tall Ships will be in Cadiz bay - well worth a visit.
August/Agosto
15th August	Assumtion of the Virgin - Bank Holiday
15th August	Light hearted Poetry Evening complimentary nibbles included, from 8pm at Cita Bar Aldea del Coto, La Barrosa.  There is a group of local children who will be filming and producing their own pop video which will be screened in Cita Bar from 7pm. - see La Barrosa tourist info page for full contact details.
September/Septiembre
14th	Cita Bar Aldea del Coto, La Barrosa. Virgin Vie Cosmetics 'Launch Party' from 1400-2000.  Free glass of wine on entrance and complimentary nibbles

November/Noviembre
13th	Saint Diego Fiesta - the Patron Saint of Ayamonte is Diego and on this day they celebrate by parading him through the streets of Ayamonte. Ayamonte
24th - 26th	Mushroom celebrations in Jimena de la Frontera.  Celebration of the Chantarelle Mushroom found in the national park Los Alcornocales.  Many events including tasting, guides, lectures & displays.
December/Diciembre
6th - 8th	V Feria de la Tapa - Chipiona
6th	Constitution Day
5th - 8th, 10th - 15th	Formula 1 testing at Jerez de la Frontera.  3 Euros entry fee, children get in for free.
8th	Feast of the Immaculate Conception - Public Holiday Seville is a fantastic city to visit for this event - the streets are filled with celebrations and partying to celebrate this religious festival. Try and get to the front of the Gothic Cathedral in Seville to see Los Seises (dance of six).
16th	Belen Viviente - Arcos - see below for more details on the Belen Viviente
22nd	El Gordo(the fat one) - a very popular Spanish tradition, this is the lottery big style with a 3 million euro prize.  The Spanish listen intently for 3 hours on the morning of this lottery in the hope that they will be lucky.  Look at www.elgordo.com to buy a ticket.
23rd, 5 - 10pm	Belen Viviente - Medina Sidonia.  This is a live nativity play with the streets turned into the nativity scene with lambs, sheep, chickens and locals dressed as Mary and Joseph etc - a great way to get into the real spirit of Christmas
24th	Christmas Eve (Nochebuena) - Most things will be shut this evening as this is when the Spanish really start their Christmas celebrations.  They traditionally have the family get together on this day and Christmas Day is a recovery day.
28th	Holy Innocents - this is like UKs April Fools day when the Spanish play practical jokes on each other so watch out
31st	Nochevieja (The Old Night - New Years Eve) - Most Spaniards celebrate this with a family meal followed by partying.  One important part of their tradition is the 12 grapes - they each get 12 grapes ready before the strike of midnight.  When the clock strikes midnight each person eats one grape per chime.  If you manage this you can look forward to a year of luck and happiness.
